In just three years, The Trump Organization’s development team transformed the Old Post Office into one of the finest hotels anywhere in the world. Under their leadership, the property received the coveted Forbes “Five-Star” designation, making it the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in all of downtown Washington D.C. and in 2022 became the only hotel in all of Washington D.C. with a Five-Star Hotel and Spa. The Hotel’s success is a true testament to the Trump brand and its unwavering commitment to excellence.
The Trump Organization announced on May 11, 2022 the record-breaking sale of the Trump International Hotel, Washington D.C. to CGI Merchant Group, who will rebrand the hotel as a Waldorf Astoria. The transaction marks the highest price per key ever achieved in Washington D.C., the highest price per key in U.S. history for a leasehold interest, and the largest sale of a historic hotel in over 15 years.
